A Shankar:I own a Canon EOS 450 D camera. Somehow I find that the picture quality is not sharp. Some pictures are clear and sharp while others are are unsatisfactory. I know this is a good camera. Is it because I am not clicking properly? How do I get a sharp and clear picture?

Tech Toyz : Could a fault with your lens. you'll need to take your camera to a official service centre and get it checked.

Tech Toyz : CCD and CMOS both have their advantages. Even experts are unable to agree definitively on which one is better! both techonologies have their strenghts and weaknesses

Tech Toyz : buy the nikon 5000d if you can afford it. if thats outside your budget, buy the canon 1000d

Tech Toyz : put flash in slow synch mode, this will ensure that your pictures will not look totally flat. also try increasing the ISO settings and shoot without flash

Tech Toyz : on a full moon night, choose manual mode and you can shoot handheld. for a crescent moon, mount your camera on a tripod and keep your camera on manual mode. but be warned! lots of trial and error required before you a get a good moon shot!

Tech Toyz : avoid getting sand and water in the camera! avoid changing lenses in dusty areas. keep a pack of silica gel inside your camera bag. pack all lenses and batteries inside ziplock bags.

bickerer:Last week, I was trying to shoot some people in the backdrop of a beach. When I reduce the exposure to get the beach properly, the people will appear dark. How to take pictures of people against very bright backgrounds, so that both the foreground and background are clear?

Tech Toyz : simple answer - you CAN'T! most digital cameras cannot adjust for extremely bright background and dark foregrounds. one way to do this is to make sure the sun is behind you (the photographer) and not behind the people (subjects)
