CPI leader A B Bardhan admits--explicitly and strongly--the Left Front government in West Bengal failed to contain Maoist unrest in Lalgarh. The unrest in Lalgarh "would have been nipped in the bud if action had been taken seven months before," he told Karan Thapar on Devil's Advocate. But the CPI-M led government "neglected" and "alienated" the tribal people in Lalgarh. Left Front leaders failed to read what the masses were saying, he said.
